Why APPI:  Threading the eye of a needle is especially challenging when the thread is a coil of 5/8” rebar and the needle is in the middle of a rebar stirrup bender.

KRB Machinery is a global leader in rebar fabrication equipment and when they first integrated an AC electric rebar winch to ease the task of reloading their rebar bending machines, they turned to us to help meet their specific application requirements. Our Columbia WD2000 AC electric winch was initially specified for this task and it continues to be the standard on all their equipment.

Cast and machined construction, planetary gear reduction and virtually zero for maintenance requirements made this unit an easy choice. A four-roller fairlead was provided with the winch to help ensure the wire rope does not get an opportunity to get tangled.

According to Chris Suski, Design Engineer for KRB Machinery, the winches allow one person to easily load the rebar by pulling it through a roller box and into the machine. With our Columbia WD2000 AC winch installed, its takes less time and effort to load a machine while making it safer for the operator than pulling the rebar by hand.
