Why APPI:  “Jumping” a tower crane is the term used to describe when additional mast sections are added to increase the height of the crane.  Part of this process includes “jumping” the man lift elevator used by the operator to access the cab.

Bigge Crane and Rigging, with their headquarters in San Leandro, CA has made one of our Columbia HD900 AC hoists the standard for accomplishing this task throughout their tower crane fleet.  Mounted on a davit arm that is secured to the mast, their compact size, reliable design and low maintenance requirements made them an ideal match for this demanding application.  Seven of their tower cranes have already been equipped with these units with more to be installed in the future.
