Why APPI: The Remediation Division of the Michigan DEQ is responsible for the ongoing testing of sediment in all the navigable waters located within the state. To do so, they needed a hoist that could work at depths up to 100 feet with line pull adequate to overcome suction when pulling a sediment sampling barrel loose from the bottom.  Given the limited power available on their dredge, it was a pleasant surprise for Daniel Peabody, a geologist with the department, to find our HD2000 AC hoist with minimal modification would be an ideal solution for their application.

With a fully sealed planetary gear set and a wash down duty motor with an automatic brake, this hoist was easily configured to perform in a harsh, outdoor, marine working environment.
