Why APPI: When SIT needed an AC hoist for a jib crane they were supplying to an overseas customer for use in a caustic environment, they turned to us for assistance. Their load requirements and wire rope capacity matched up with our Columbia HG5600 AC hoist equipped with an optional “02” drum that holds 198 feet of 3/8” diameter wire rope. Epoxy paint, stainless steel fasteners, a NEMA 4X fiberglass electrical enclosure and a NEMA 4X hand held, low voltage control pendant were selected to help protect against corrosion. The compact design of the hoist with its permanently lubricated gear-train, planetary reduction and automatic brake made the HG5600 an ideal choice for SIT and their customer.
