Why APPI:  “Lightweight metal stud” becomes a terminology oxymoron when you work with large ones that are 46 feet in length and weigh in at 185 pounds.

To cut construction time and make lifting these unwieldy pieces safer and easier for their framing crews, Dahmer Contracting Group of Lenexa, Kansas, is using one of our Columbia HMH-600 hook mounted portable hoists to lift two studs at a time from horizontal to vertical.  With a weight of less than 60 pounds it’s easy to hang and move from one lifting position to another as framing progresses.  The lifting speed of this hook mounted portable hoist makes it possible to lift the longest of these pieces to vertical and be ready to anchor in less than a minute.  As it operates on 115 VAC, it’s usable even at job sites that are on generator power.
