Why APPI: The SSV Oliver Hazard Perry is a 200 foot sailing vessel operated by a non-profit of the same name out of Newport, Rhode Island. She is the first full-rigged sailing ship to be built in the U.S. in over 100 years and in addition to being an eye-catcher she is the real deal among sailboats with over 7 miles of rigging and the ability to fly up 14,000 square feet of sail.
After doing their due diligence the design engineering firm working with “OHP” agreed with the captain that we were the best source for their dinghy hoists. The units, as supplied, were designed to accommodate the weather conditions they will encounter along with features such as manual operation of the hoists in power out situations.
