Why APPI:  When Mid-Columbia Producers built a new grain loading facility one of the small – but critical – details they needed to address was a barge positioning winch system.  In use, a pair of winches working in tandem positions and then moves the grain barges as they are being loaded by the dock side elevator.

The combination of weather, current and barge weight leave no room for error when selecting winches for this kind of work.  Working closely with Mike Brehm of Mid-Columbia Producers, we were able to modify one of our standard products to meet their space limitations and strict requirements for performance and reliable operation.
