Why APPI: A three-drum Line Sagging Hydraulic Winch package for power-line installation was needed, and Allied Power Products, Inc (APPI) had the solution.
APPI engineered this hydraulically powered line sagging winch system for use on a “D8″ size dozer. This specifically designed system provides an operator with complete control, including inching capability while raising and tensioning high-power transmission lines.
With power provided by the dozer’s hydraulic system, each of the three winches has a maximum line pull capacity of 60,000 lbs. This system is configured to spool up to 275′ of 7/8” diameter wire rope and operate by individual controls for pull, speed, and free-spooling; this system provides power and precision control with capacity.
