Line Pull: 4,500 pounds on the first layer
Line Speed: 11 feet per minute on the first layer
Wire Rope Capacity: 38 feet x 3/8″ diameter stainless steel wire rope with latching hook
Special Features: 2.0 HP brakemotor with spring applied electrically released brake to maintain dredge position. Left hand grooved drum for 3/8” wire rope with a custom cable tension plate to prevent “bird nesting” during slack line conditions during dredge movement.
Why APPI: Equipment Specialties came to Allied Power Products years ago seeking a low profile solution to their hoist needs for their Piranha Pump line of dredges. They needed to control placement of the barge during their dredging operation and found that their specific needs could best be realized by partnering with APPI to develop a hoist that could achieve their specific design for the movement of their anchoring and/or positioning system.
Over the years since we first began working with Equipment Specialties, they continue to rely on our Columbia barge positioning hoist to handle the positioning of their Piranha Pump dredging system.
